I sat on a stretch of Highway 9 for thirty minutes. This man in the Impreza busted out two microfiber cloths - blue for his outside glass and yellow for inside - and armor all wipes for his dash, and just started cleaning his car for 20 minutes. Now that’s multitasking.

Yeah, the traffic in this area is pretty freaking insane. Making use of that wasted time is great, I’ve only seen quick car cleaning done in ferry lines before.

On Friday afternoons, it can take me 40 minutes to drive from south Everett to north Everett, which is 9 whole miles.

The thought of adding highway 9, or the tressel, or the Marysville flats to my commute... is just freaking NO. NO. NO.

There are good reasons we spent the extra $250k to stay closer to work, rather than getting a cheaper place in Marysville or Auburn or something.

Yeah, I’m looking at the outskirts of Mukilteo or Forest Park area (that’s in Everett, not Lake Forest Park which would be amazing). In the meantime, I have a roof over my head and an affordable mortgage, so I should be grateful.

My yellow microfiber does a shit job of cleaning the inside of my windshield. I wish to learn his ways so I can have a clean windshield.

my truck is currently encrusted in 1/8" of salt and 3" of slush. “cleaning the windows” entails whatever narrow strip the cold-stiffened windshield wipers can sweep.

on the upside, I don’t live in California.
